RV Repair: slide out awning, fleetwood motor home, lag screws

Question
When I was having the slide out go out on my 1998 fleetwood motor home I heard a loud noise and when I looked at the slideout I noticed the awning had pulled loose from it on both ends, it pulled the brackets right off the slide out.I had just run the slide out, out & back in a couple of days earlier with no problem. Any ideas what might have caused this, & do you think I can just rescrew the brackets back on?  THANKS

Answer
Hi Terry:
First thing to check is to make sure the awning roller is not bound up. If that is ok the you will probably have to drill some new holes to put the lag screws in that hold the awning to the coach. Once those pull out they will never again hold in the same holes.
