RV Repair: Exhaust Fan, quality motor, exhaust fan

Does the exhaust fan & range hood light run off the same fuse ? (1982Prowler) The light works, but the fan does not. Any suggestions as what to do or check will be much appreciated.    Thanks   Gordon

Yes, same fuse. Those fans go out often. It is not a real quality motor. Usually the fan motor bushing goes bad and it locks up, sometimes the brushes inside the motor wear out.  If you take the filter off you should be able to see the fan. Spin the blades with the switch on to see if it will start. If it does then the bushings, or brushes, are probably bad and you need a new motor. If it does not start check the voltage at the motor wires with the switch on. If the motor has voltage, 12 volts DC, and does not run you need a new motor. If you have no voltage chase the wires back until you find the reason for no voltage and repair that. Good luck.
