RV Repair: Magnetek Power Plus Converter, volt output, exess

Question
The DC voltage circuits measure in exess of 17 VDC. Is there an output DC voltage adjustment?

Answer
Hi:
There is no accessible voltage adjustment. A 17 volt output is a little high but not excessive. My shop charger runs at 16.5 volts. Most alternators run at 13.5-14.5 volts. It is a little high but I doubt it will hurt anything, probably shorten the life of lightbulbs. I would call Magnetek tech center and ask. The voltage adjustment is probably a hardwired resistor inside the unit that may be bad and they will have the location and value it should be if you want to get into it that far. It may be factory set at 17 volts. The voltage probably drops as the batteries fill with charge and the current output of the converter drops.
