RV Repair: RV, best bet, good answer

Question
THE FRONT PANELS ON MY 12 YEAR OLD CLASS C HAVE SHRUNK WITH AGE AND NO LONGER FIT UNDER THE CORNER STRIP ALONG THE NOSE OF THE CAB.  I AM FEARFUL THAT IF I DON'T DO SOMETHING IT COULD CATCH IN THE WIND AND RIP OFF.  I HAVE TRIED FORCING ADHESSIVE CAULKING UNDER NEATH BUT IT DID NOT STICK. I ASSUME I SHOULD NOT TRY NAILING IT IN PLACE AS THE FIBERGLASS WILL CRACK.  CAN I REPLACETHE CORNER STRIPS -THEY APPEAR TO BE OF A RUBBER LIKE MATERIAL. I AM TRYING TO AVOID TAKING IT OT A DEALER WHO WILL PROBABLY WANT TO REPLACE THE WHOLE PANEL.  ALSO CAN THE FINISH BE RESTORED IN AY WAY?  IT HAS TURNED MILKY FROM 12 YEARS INTHE ELEMENTS.

Answer
Very hard for me to give you a good answer without actually seeing it. It sounds as if you may be able to use some construction adhesive to glue the panel so that the wind can't get behind it. As old as your unit is, things have probably dried up and shrunk to some extent. Your best bet would be to glue everything and re-screw the trim on tighter. Hope this helps a little.
There really is no way to restore the finish, without spending a lot of money at a body shop. You could check with an auto supply store and see if they can recommend a paint for it.
