RV Repair: Dometic Fridge RM 6401, high tension wire, selection model

Question
We tried to use our frige on gas at the weekend, but there was no life in the ignition system.  Fridge cooled down using 240v (we're in UK) (manual energy selection model) but when gas is selected, the light that usually flashes when the ignitor sparkes did not come on - nor did the ignitor try to sparke.  Gas is released to the burner when button pushed in.  Nothing obvious in loose wiring etc. and Fuse from battery OK - any ideas?

Answer
Hi now with auto ignition model fridges a couple of things need to happen for ignition and the most important is DC voltage it needs to be at least 10.5VDC so if your just on your battery be sure it has a good charge or plug your unit into 240VAC.  Now there is what is called a re-ignitor on your dometic fridge which is a small usually white box.  This box needs to have 12VDC going to it before it can spark to your burner there is also a high voltage lead coming from this box which conducts the spark.  If voltage is present and at least 10.5 and no spark while the ignition process is selected, pull of the high tension lead with a pair of insulated pliers and hold it close to the contacts on the ignitor box.  If it sparks then you probally got a bad high tension wire if it does not spark then you will probally neeed to replace the re-ignitor which common to these fridges.
