RV Repair: water pump on the rv system not working, sun voyager, shurflo pump

Question
The water pump is not pumping any water. What do I need to check for to try to trouble shoot the system? I have never worked on the system before.
I just took the coach out of storage and filled it up with water and it would not pump any water. The coach is a 1997 Gulfstream Sun Voyager. I have only owned it for 1 1/2 years and have not had any trouble out of it and know of no repair work that has been done on the pump.

Answer
It is probably a ShurFlo pump. This is what most RVs use.
I am going to try and attach a brochure for you. If it doesn't work, go to the website (www.shurflo.com)and you can request an owners manual.
There are a number of things that could be wrong with it. Did you drain your lines before winterizing? Did you check all the circuit breakers and wires that lead to it? Sometimes water pumps can become jammed (like a car starter). Try taking it loose and tapping it and see if that helps.
Unfortunately, it is probably about time for it to be replaced. They are not too expensive. I would suggest getting a new one. You don't want it to go out on you when you are camping.
The attachment wouldn't work, so go to the website. If it is not a Shurflo, then go to Google and type in the kind that it is and see what you come up with. Good luck.
