RV Repair: 2002 Coleman Sedona, propane tank, fiberglass resin

Question
We just purchased a used popup camper. The camper is in very good condition for the most part. Above the propane tank are two cracks in the thin plastic coating or the camper body. One crack in about 4" long while the other is 12" to 14". You can push in one side of the crack and see the wood structure underneath. What would be the best way to repair this? An epoxy could do the job but would leave a ugly weld. Tape would work but I don't think it will be permanent.

Answer
You can use a liquid plastic or fiberglass resin to seal and finish it like you would a body repair.

1. Clean and prepare the area at least 3 inches outside of crack area.
2. Apply the resin or liquid plastic to the area and feather it out.
3. Sand the area out and paint.
