RV Repair: Vent replacement, roof vent, happy camping

Hi Darren, I have a 78 Boler and the roof vent is leaking.  I need to replace the whole vent.  What measurements do I need to order a new one and is it easy to replace?  What steps are needed to replace the unit.

Good morning Greg,
                 You will want the dimensions of the opening in the roof in order to get a replacement vent.  The standard now is 14"X14", but in a unit that old it may have a smaller one, or a larger one.  They are fairly easy to replace.  Just remove the screws around the perimeter of the vent and remove it from the roof.  Apply putty tape to the replacement and screw it to the roof.  Apply a good lap sealant to the screws and around the vent where it meets the roof.  Good luck and happy camping.
