RV Repair: RUBBER ROOF REPAIR, window sealant, happy camping

Question
I HAVE A 2000 KEYSTONE COUGAR WITH A RUBBER ROOF.
WENT UP TO WASH ROOF AFTER RETURNING FROM TRIP.
FOUND SOFT SPOT ABOUT 8''IN BACK CORNER ON ROOF.
SEE NO HOLE IN RUBBER, BUT IT IS AT REAR SEAM.
WOOD UNDER RUBBER FRON EDGE OF ROOF IS SOFT & ROTTEN.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO REMOVE ALL THE SEALANT ON SEAM WITHOUT DESTROYING RUBBER ROOF AND THAN TAKE OFF SIDE GUTTER TRIM AND PEAL BACK RUBBER AND REPLACE WOOD OR SHOULD I JUST RE-COAT SEAM & TAKE DOWN KITCHEN CABINETS AND CUT OUT CIELING ? ( WHAT PRODUCT SHOULD I USE TO RE-SEAL SEAMS       THANKS    JOHN

Answer
John,
You had the right idea first.  Remove the trim and roll the rubber back to the first rafter you come to and cut the decking down the center of that rafter and replace it.  Or you can go to the first seam in the decking and replace the entire piece.  Then just glue the rubber back down and reinstall your trim with new putty.  You will want to use a lap sealant for sealing everything on top where it's relatively flat and a good quality exterior window sealant on the sides.  I hope this helps, good luck and happy camping.
