RV Repair: Replace RV window crank, rv window, happy camping

Question
Darren,
I am working on a triple pane (3 horizontal panes) which all operate off a single hand crank.  The single crank is located on the right hand side of the window and attached by screws into the right inside frame of the window.  The window dimension is approx 36"x23".  The window is located on fwd section of the left side of the trailer (as standing inside the trailer facing the tow vehicle)(opposite side of the entry door to the trailer).

The hand crank operates a cylinder that is attached at both ends to the inside window frame.  The cylinder has an arm on each end with a connecting push rod (on each arm) that drive the window mechanism up and down(open and closed).  I hope this helps...
Thanks again for quick response...
Ron

Question -
I have an 86 Coachmen Crusader and am curious how to replace the Right Hand side of window, window crank asssembly.  I thought that getting the window to full open or full closed would allow me to unlatch the push rods on either side, but no such luck.  Any help here?

Thanks,
Ron

Ron,

What type of window are you working on?  From your question I can't tell if this is a door window on the chassis or a window in the motorhome itself.  Let me know and I will see if I can help.

Answer
Ron,
This type of window is no fun to work on.  Usually if you remove the window operator and the screws from the frame you are working on you can get the crossbar out with a little maneuvering.  It will take a little time and a lot of patience.  Good luck and happy camping.
