RV Repair: 5 th wheel leveler, teton 5th wheel, th wheel

Question
I bent one of the two Ultra Fab electric levelers on the front of my 1997 Grand Teton 5th wheel.  The leveler is about half in - or half out... and is stuck in the shaft.  In addition, the lower shaft is bent at about 45 degrees. The leveler appears to be held by two bolts, and there is no damage to the power head. I can get a lower stem unit, but am not sure how to start the removal. Are there any suggestions? Does it come out the top, or the bottom?

Answer
Berry,
First you will need to jack up the front of your trailer and put jack stands under it.  Then with the weight off of your bent assembly you should be able to unbolt it and remove it from the top.  You may have to cut off the bent section in order to maneuver it out, but I would try to get it out whole first.  Some trailers have great access for this and some manufacturers must believe that they would never need to be worked on.  I hope this helps and good luck with your repair.
