RV Repair: frig, electric refrigerator, household type

Question
I was told if the rv was not level the propane frig would go bad. Is this true on 120v models and how unlevel can they be?

Answer
Gary,

If you have a gas/electric refrigerator then it must be within 3 degrees of being level or running it can cause a premature cooling unit failure, as well as poor performance.  This is only true when parked.  While in transit it wont hurt it going up and down hills, around corners, etc.  If you are going to stop for any length of time then you want the unit as level as possible.  A failure of the cooling unit is a very expensive repair.  As for a regular household type 120 volt refrigerator, I don't know the tolerances.  Most all RV's have the absorption type system.  I hope this answers your questions.
