Saab Repair: saab 9000 turbo engine, saab 9000, walter wong

Question
I have a question regarding the 9000 turbo engine, car is a 1986, 202,500 miles, runs good, but I was thinking about rebuilding this engine when it dies.
I have read up on this subject, and it seems alot of shops and Saab mechanics (locally)do not recommend rebuilding these engines.
Is there a valid reason why?
Is there a quality replacement engine availiable?

As a side note, a local junk yard has alot of Saab, 9000's 900's sitting there, and the bodies look near pristine condition.

Thanks for your'e help.

Answer
Unless the car is in A1 condition. do not worth the $4500. to install a rebuilt engine.
A good used engine from a 900 or 9000 can work in the car.
For the used engine call Steve  323 875 0777
The labor to install a engine, rebuilt or used is about $700. plus the accesories, like punps, mounts, hoses, gaskets, etc.
