Saturn SL - 1993 - 1.9L engine

I heard some noise from under the cover of my rocker arm cover (valve cover).  It appears that the two rocker arms over the #2 cylinder are hitting the cover.  The are corresponding wear marks on both front top edges of the rocker arms and the inside of the cover. I cleaned the rocker arms shafts and the rocker arms can freely rotate on the shafts although when I first removed the rocker arms assemblies the two rocker arms did not freely rotate like the other rocker arms. The rocker arms do not have any excessive play on the shaft when I try to wiggle them. Could a over heated cylinder head cause this as in warping the cyliner head? Or do I need to replace the rocker arms and/or the shafts?  I checked the shafts against a metal straight edge and they seem to be straight.  I did not check to see how the shafts seated on the head before I bolted them down.

Hi the rockers are hitting the valve cover?

Yes, two of the rockers (the ones over the #2 cylinder) seem to be hitting the cover.  As I stated, the two rockers have wear marks (shiney metal as opposed to the brown from the oil) on the top and there are corresponding marks on the inside of the cover.  If the rockers were not getting enough oil could they be sticking and thereby getting out of sync with cam and somehow be made to hit the cover?  I replaced the oil pump last year but I wonder if the rockers are not getting enough oil.

Answer
Hi the only way for the rockers to hit the cover is that the rocker arm or cam is worn or the bolt that hold the shaft down are loose i have seen the bolts back off.i really cant say what u have to replace but i would take a good long look at every thing
