Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): kawasaki 610 4x4 mule 2011 model, kawasaki motorcycles, customer change

Question
QUESTION: hi i was just wondering what is the average rebuild hours for a kawasaki 610 4x4 mule 2011 model or if they ever need to be rebuilt

ANSWER: There are too many variables for me to put an average hours for rebuilding but if you follow the factory maintenance you should be able to get many years out of the engine.  I've had several Kawasaki motorcycles and never rebuilt any of the engines.  I did keep up with maintenance, mainly oil changes and cleaning the air filter, checked the valves per the manual but never got inside the engine.

On the garden industry side I have had customer only get two to three years out of their engines due to poor maintenance.  Never changed the oil, never cleaned the air filter, some even removed the air filter.  On the other extreme I had one customer change his oil every time he mowed.  Granite he mowed for 6-10 hours each week but his engine was over 15 years old still running great and did not burn any oil.

Get some basic, good tools for changing the oil and cleaning the air filter.  A small investment will pay big returns in the engines life.

QUESTION: i brought a brand new kawasaki 610 4x4  mule 2011 model wasnt even 10 months old had a 170 hours it was kept maintained always had new oil and air filters cleaned it stopped working so i took it back to where i brought it from and they rebuilt the motor and said they needed to be rebuilt every 180 hours but the problem wasnt the motor as it was still playing up after the rebuild they are have reseated the valves that was over 4 months ago and it still isnt fixed

Answer
Is the problem you are having with the engine or driveline?  Does the engine just stop?  If the engine just stops, will it restart?

180 hours seems a little low but I know some of the high performance motocross motorcycles require frequent rebuilding but 180 hours sounds about right for those.  I would think the mule would go at least double that between rebuilds.
