Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): crafstman ignition problem, wiring schematics, switch systems

i have a craftsman riding mower model 917.270510 with a seven prong ignition 140301. the ignition wires were cut so i re-connected all the obvious ones, i was left with 4 black wires. does it matter how i connect them?? where do they go?? do you have a wiring diagram??

Is this your switch?  Does you switch have the same letters?

Does you engine start and run?  Do you have a multimeter to measure DC voltage?
