Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Ryobi Trimmer - RY3000, ryobi trimmer, clutch tool

Question
What precautions / tips are necessary when re-assembling a Ryobi Trimmer ? I am especially interested in the reassembly of the flywheel (with its built-in key)and parts after that (i.e. clutch pieces, drum & connector, etc). I did not take the "complete starter assembly" apart so don't need any info on that. I am concerned about how the flywheel is secured so it does not pop up off its key. Thank You

Answer
It's really pretty straightforward.  I use a rechargeable impact to install the flywheel nut and clutch on 2-strokes.  That way you don't have to mess with locking the piston.  Otherwise you have to stick something in the cylinder to hold the piston in place.  For the clutch, the best way is with the proper tool.  You can make a clutch tool out of a socket, just cut-out some tabs to catch the indentions for the tool.

Other than that, there's really no tricks.  Thanks, PK.
