Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): John Deere 265 lawn tractor, john deere 265, question pool

My tractor is 18 years old.  The motor drive belt (V belt) began twisting and even at times coming off the pulley.  I replaced the belt and still it twists.  There is no play or movement in the pulley assemblies.  Please help!  What else do I need to check?  Thanks!

Sorry for the Delay. This Question was in the Question Pool. From your Description it Sounds like there is a Pulley Out of Alignment. Check the Pulley Alignment and the Pulleys/Idlers for Being Bent.
