Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): go kart, oil drain, shroud

Question
any response is greatly appreciated. i have an 8hp briggs go kart that i flipped back while running. it damaged the air filter cover and bent the muffler up at a 45 and drained alot of oil. it did'nt stay back but maybe 10 to 15 sec. but i had to choke to kill it. i waited about 5 min then tried to crank it. it would'nt start! it tried at 1/2 choke but barely. i've waited almost 24 hours to let the oil drain back down before trying again. i went and bought a new plug ;installed and nothing; did not hit a lick. i cleaned the old plug and re-installed; still nothing. i took the plug back out and put the wire on then stuck my thumb on it and pulled the cord, no fire. what should i do now if anything?

Answer
Pull the flywheel shroud and check the coil.  Unhook the kill wire that clips to the coil and see if it will fire.  If it will then you probably have bent the bracket the kill wire clips to or shorted it out somewhere.  If it's going to ground, then the coil can't fire.  Lety me know if you have any trouble.  Thanks, PK.
