Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Honda gx 160, 5.5 hp, honda gx 160, pressure washer

The engine is on a pressure washer. The engine will only run at full throttle and when the load is removed it surges, if the throttle is reduced to idle it will only run with the choke about 3/4 closed. Is this a float level problem if so how do you correct it?

  The jets are clogged, remove the carb, unscrew the nut off of the
bottom, in the hole that the nut came out of is a brass jet, which
can be removed with a flat bladed scewdriver, use the correct size tip, or you will damage it and never get it out, clean out all of the hole in it, above it is another jet which is just lightly
pressed in up there, and can be brought to fall out by some tapping,
clean that one as well.  Reassemble.

That should fix the problem.
