My fuel line cracked from being brittle.  It looks like it is a vent hose.  There are two hoses, one has a filter on the end.  The one I replaced does not have a filter.  when I replaced it, it leaks gas all over.  The connections are tight, but when I put the gas cap on, it seems to siphon/pump the gas out of the hose that I replaced.

Hi Bill, if the replaced hose is the same size as original and installed correctly then your fuel tank is not venting.  Most likely the gas cap is bad.
