Petrol is leaking out of the primer, someone has told me the floating pin may have fallen out. what does a floating pin look like.  Inside the primer there is a plastic clip that clips on to a little plastic upright lever/post. Is this the floating pin??  What can I do, it starts floods and then cuts out.

Hi Helen, if the engine has a float bowl carburetor, remove the bowl on the bottom of the carb and check the float. I imagine it has a hole in it and is full of fluid which keeps it from shutting off fuel flow. The float pin is the pin that hinges the float to the carb body.   If the carb is a diaphragm style, the metering lever diaphragm is probably faulty and holding the metering lever open.  We also carry a large selection of diaphragms in stock.  Please visit our website or call us to find the correct one.  Hope this helps.
