Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Miss, cylinder spark plug coil small engine discountonlineparts discount online parts lawn mower parts

Question
I have a husqvarna riding mower with a 21hp b/s twin. I have a miss in the right cylinder. The compression in both cylinders is 150 lbs. I have good spark in both cylinders. I have set the valve clearance to specs. At low speed I can pull the sparkplug wire off the right cylinder with no effect to the engine. Is there something I need to do with the carb? thanks in advance John

Answer
Hi, the coil to the right cylinder is not firing all the time or at all.  If you remove the spark plug wire and nothing changes you have either a bad spark plug or a bad coil.  Replace the spark plug first and check.  If there is still a problem replace the coil.  Hope this helps!
