Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Honda gx Series 20 HP V-Twin, honda gx, valve clearances

Question
Good fire to the plugs, Carb Clean and functioning correctly, Valve clearances are good, however, when trying to accelerate is falls on it's face. Seems like a timing problem. Any Suggestions ?

Answer
Has the engine been apart, worked on recently?  What happened since the last time it was running good?  Did it just happen while sitting over winter?
When it falls on its face, does it bog down like it has no power?
Does it have good compression on both sides, does it have spark on both sides?

What type of equipment is it on?  Will it accelerate OK with nothing attached?

Just to help run it down, I would disconnect both of the kill wires from the coils, then test it, of course you will have to have a plan to shut it down, choke, etc..

After it has run just briefly, check the temp of the exhaust
on both  sides, with a quick touch, or what ever.
An engine running on one cylinder behaves like you describe.
Check the compression roughly by cranking with a finger over each
plug hole.
Also try it with the air filter on, and while it is still running
take off the filter and test it briefly.
Of course trying these things, you need to be careful.
Check these things out, and give me a little more detail, and we may bump into it.

Thanks,
