I have mini digger Kanga and the trouble l have is every time i got to start my machine after it has been shut down for a couple of days it is very hard to start it takes at least a minute to start it,when the machine is used every day it will start straight away( 3 seconds )l have adjusted the valves, new plugs and cleaned carby, l have pulled the spark plugs out when it wont start and they are dry the fuel pump is working, would fuel be leaking out the fuel bowel when it has been sitting for a while ,it doesnt make sence if i use it every day it is fine it is just when l leave it for a few days i am concurned that i will wear the starter moter out

Answer
That is rather odd.  If the air is especially dry then the fuel may be evaporating or it could be leaking.  Are you in Australia or N.Z.?  Is your fuel an ethanol blend?  Ethanol blended fuel evaporates a bit quicker.  If the machine is in the sun, maybe the added heat is evaporating the fuel.  Since you have a fuel pump, there's no replacement of the fuel like a gravity feed would be.

You might try cleaning the area around the carb really good and then dusting the area with corn starch or something similar.  Then you'll be able to find an external leak.

I'd pull the bowl off the next time I let it sit for a couple of days and see if it's empty.

Try these and let me know what you get.  If you can't get through on here, I only answer 5 questions a day, then contact me through my website as I'm rather interested in this one and the cause.  Thanks, PK.
