i have a tractor mower with a 14hp twin cylinder engine.the problem i had was no power to starter motor,but i have now fed a wire from ignition bypassing safty switches going straight to solenoid,it now starts on choke but cuts out after about 10 seconds.can you help,paul

Can you tell me the make and model of the tractor?  Also, to diagnose the problems, and there may be more than one, you're going to need to put the wiring back the way it was.  You'll also need a voltmeter and a continuity tester.  Let me know if you have those two tools.   Thanks, PK.
