Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Sharpening the chain saw, local shop, chisel

Question
QUESTION: pull it out, won't go back it, what to do?

ANSWER: In general, it sounds like you need to replace the rewind spring.
For anything more specific, I will need to know the brand and model number.  Also, I usually replace the rope as well.  Please get back to me with the info, and I will be able to give a better response.

Thanks,

 Fish

QUESTION: Fish, I opened it up and it was just filled with junk, cleaned it and rolled right back up. Now, how do I sharpen the chain? I obviously don't use this thing too often, I used to have it serviced by a local shop, but home depot drove them out of business, so now I am on my own.

Answer
Here is a pic of sharpening angles, etc.  I hope it will help explain
basically the angle from looking at the top should be 60%, or 30, depending how you measure it.
The correct diameter of the file is important as well, as the chisel angle as you look from the side should be @ 60% as well, too fat of a file, then the angle will be too blunt, too small, it would be too steep.
Instead of posting the pic, I will post the link to a forum where I put up that pic, there is some good reading on this site.
