QUESTION: The # is g400-1072070 there is a red wire green wire black wire blue wire and a black wire out of cdi box no idea where they go

ANSWER: Claudio

Based on the information you gave me, This is a very OLD L head engine that dates back to 1979  It is a 10 hp engine.  There are some letters that I am needing that are also on the block... such as QB6, QJO, etc....

Are you good with a digital camera?  Please send me a digital image or images of the CDI box you refer to AND the electric start motor connections.-I need a large image that shows it clearly.  You can email to my email address fotoman_65@yahoo.com

I am thinking that the CDI box you are speaking of is actually an electronic controller that was used for the generator portion of the unit when it was working and may not be needed for you new go cart application.

QUESTION: hello i cant find any other numbers on the motor except honda 400-406cc thanks anyway

Answer
Claudio:

I have had a chance to review a picture of this engine-more specifically the CDI unit your talking of.  May or the wires you speak of are integrated into the generator system.

My suggestion is to keep this very simple and have a hot wire that goes to the battery and is activated by a push button solenoid.  Would this work for you?  I can help you through this if this is the way you to go.  Can you e-mail me a picture of the starter connections
