Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): honda 3813 ride on mower is over heating, blown head gasket, pump impellers

Question
QUESTION: my Honda 3813 ride on mower is over heating, i took out the thermostat as it was failing but it is still over heating also the bottom of the radiator is not that hot it was flushed 2 weeks ago, any ideas? water pump maybe? thank you Jon.

ANSWER: Hello Jon:

>>From your Description it Sounds like the Water Pump Impellers have Worn Away and the Water Pump Requires Replacing or there is a Blown Head Gasket.
>>If you Start the Engine with the Radiator Cap Off, Does the Water get Pushed Out the Fill Hole? If Yes, then
>>the Engine has a Blown Head Gasket. If No, then
>>the Water Pump Requires Replacing.
>>Try Using the Orange Antifreeze (Dex-Cool) Designed for Aluminum Engines. It is More Expensive, but you have Less Cooling Problems.
>>Please, Do Not Hesitate, If you Hit a Snag, if I Missed Something or this Does Not Correct the Problem, I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.
