Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): troy-bilt gxt 2446 riding mower --- electrical, deck height, dash panel

turned off mower - went in house - came back out - mower wouldn't turn over - broke ignition switch - replaced - replaced solenoid - checked fuse in ground wire and fuse up by dash panel - all ok - checked for power to starter motor with key in start position and sitting in seat with foot on brake -- nuttin - lights come on - any ideas - i hate electrical , especially when i cant find a source for color codes or diagrams - thanks --- mike in east tn

Your tractor is made by MTD.  Get your model and serial number from under the seat and go to MTDPRODUCTS.com and you can download a manual with a wire schematic.  

Check your safety switch that is located near where the blades get turned on/deck height lever IF this is the model i am thinking of the switch likes to slide out of its holder.  

Get me the model and serial number and i can help you troubleshoot it.


Electrical is challenging.... but you will feel so good when we finally figure out the problem!
