Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Pressure Washer Will Not Start, briggs wont stay running

Question
I have a Briggs Brute 650 190CC 2500PSI Pressure Washer. The engine is a verticle mount. The engine model # is a 124T02-0130-B10710235. My problem is that the unit will not fire nor start. I have gone through the engine completely and reassembled it and cannot see what is wrong. It just seems that it is not drawing in the gas. I can pour gas in the spark plug hole and it will start and run however when the gas is gone it shuts off. Is there something that prevents the gas from dispersing? I think I have done all the obvious. Thanks Johnny

Answer
First, try it with the gas cap loose.

Next, on the air filter bracket that bolts to the carburetor, is the gasket between the carb and bracket in place?  The carburetors on these engines fail a little more often than most.  If you have already soaked the carb in cleaner for an hour or more and chased all the holes with a fine wire, then it may be time to replace it.  If you haven't rebuilt it, then try that. Let me know about the gasket and if you've rebuilt the carb already.  Thanks, PK.
