Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Snowblower not running, fuel tank cap, shutoff valve

Question
I have a Lawnboy 552R. The engine starts and runs with the choke closed, but once I open the choke, it stalls out. I can keep it running with choke open by continuously pressing primer button. Does carb need cleaning?

Answer
Pete

Your carb needs rebuilt as the fuel is getting starved off going into the carburetor.  also check the following.

1.  Fuel tank is empty or shutoff valve is closed, or fuel line or fuel tank cap vent is clogged.
2. Carburetor is overchoked.
3. Carburetor is improperly adjusted or needs service.
