Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Idle/mixture valve on a Briggs and Stratt., briggs and stratton, horizontal shaft

I have a horizontal shaft briggs and stratton.  It cranks with ease everytime you try to give it gas, it stalls.  I've adjusted the idle/mixture valve, but the book says it's nonadjustable. It's smoking real bad! model-136212,type-0016 01.

If you adjusted something it may have been the idle/mixture valve.
What is sounds like you have a bad Carburetor pump Diaphragm.
