QUESTION: John,
It is a Montgomery Wards (Gilson) GIL 1580G Roto Tiller.

ANSWER: Hello Again Michael:

>>This Gilson Tiller is an MTD Model.
>>You can View a Breakdown/IPL of this Unit at this Site Addy, http://www.smallenginepartswarehouse.com/parts.asp and Select the Shop Online Parts Look Up. Then Select the Model Tab. Then Select the OEM (MTD) and Enter the Model Numbers (See List Below). Then Double Click on the Model in the Results Area. Now you can Select the Section of the Unit you Wish to View.
There are 4 of these Listed Online. 1 was Produced in 1991 (MTD Model #TMO-39029) and 3 in 1992 (MTD Model #s 212-340-088, 212-390-088 and 212-406-088).
>>One of these Breakdowns should be of your Tiller.

QUESTION: John,
The models you referenced do not match my tiller.  Mine is a 70s model Mongomery Wards Gilson Tiller.  I have a parts diagram, but I need a finer detailed diagram to put my idler back together correctly. Here is a link to a site that has the GIL-1580F manual.  http://rustytiller.com/manual.html
Thanks,
Mike

Answer
Hello Again Mike:

>>Sorry About that.
>>I made 2 Mistakes at Once with this Question. I Apologize.
>>I was Answering a Question for 1 of the Mechanics and Apparently Sent you the Same Information Except I Sent you to the Montgomery Wards MTD List.
>>I Guess that Happens when I Try to Answer Questions with too Many People Around me Asking Questions and Trying to get Out the Door to Work.
>>Thanks for the Site Addy.
>>The Breakdowns at this Site Addy are the Exact Same as the Microfiche.
>>I May have Another Source, but the Mechanic will have to Hunt for it.
>>I will have His Manual in the Morning (Thursday 2/26/090) and will Follow Up to you if His Manual Breakdown is Better that what you and I have so Far.
>>Toro Used to Sell Manuals for this Model, but I will have to Check with my Rep later Today. Its be Several Years since I have had a Request for Information on Gilson Tiller Products. I Believe they Purchased Gilson and Lawn Boy Products Sometime in the Mid 80's.
>>Is your Manual an Owners Manual or a Shop Manual?
