Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): snow thrower, trouble shooting guide, air mixture

hi john there was a nother gentalman here helping me but his account was deleated. i have an older craftman snow thrower its 4cly i now have it running but after ajusting the idle screws and cleaning the carb after running it last night in the snow storm my muffler was getting red hot and shouting some sparks out of it a few back fires then died but start right back up when it did this it did loose a bit of power any ideas the plug and wire have been change and gaped to specs im lost
thanks for any help the modle number is 143635022 agian craftsman 4cyl

>>I am Assuming you mean a 4 Cycle Engine and Not a 2 Cycle Engine. The Abbreviation you Used Usually means "Cylinder", but the Breakdown for the Model Numbers is a 4 Cycle Single Cylinder Engine.

Valve Grinding Compound is Approximately $5.00us a Tube and a Tube Last the Shop About a Year. It Doesn't Take a Lot to Reseat 1 Engine.**++**
>> Once the Valve Clearances are Reached and the Valve Seat is Nice and Dull; Re-Install the Valves on that Cylinder and Turn the Other Cylinder to TDC on the Compression Stroke and Set that Cylinders Valve Clearances.
