Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): b&s 22hp intek, brigs and stratton, cam lobes

I have 2006 brigs and stratton 22hp intek engin model # 441777. I have to replace the block and I am having difficulty in removing the govenor gear from the old block. I have the manual but it just says to remove govenor gear. My question is how do you remove the govenor gear?

>>Have you Removed the Push Tubes from the Cylinder Heads Yet?
>>If No, then Remove the Valve Cover and Loosen the Rocker Arms Enough to Remove the Push Tubes.
>>Use a Flat Screw Driver and Push the Tappets/Lifters Out of Way of the Cam Lobes and then Lift the Cam Out of the Block.
