Answer
Hello Peg:

>>Sometimes When the Auger Shear Pin/Bolt Holes Do Not Line up Properly, you have to Remove the Auger from the Auger Housing and then Remove the Broken Shear Pin/Bolt from the Gear Box.
>>This is Rare, but I have had Several Units that these Pins/Bolts have Been Replaced on without Removing the Auger from the Housing, but every Once in a While the Holes will Not Align Properly and then the Auger has to be Removed to Locate and Punch Out the Old Pins/Bolts for Replacement.
>>You can View a Breakdown/IPL of this Unit at this Site Addy, http://www.smallenginepartswarehouse.com/parts.asp and Select the Shop Online Parts Look Up. Then Select the Model Tab. Then Select the OEM (MTD) and Enter the Model Numbers (). Then Double Click on the Model in the Results Area. Now you can Select the Section of the Unit you Wish to View.
>>Please, Do Not Hesitate, If you Hit a Snag, if I Missed Something or this Does Not Correct the Problem, I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
