Tom, BRIGGS & STRATTON Engine#31P777 type#0348E1 it runs wide open unless choked and it also cuts out while mowing.Help.Warranty is only for 2 years have had it longer.

Has something maybe hit the throttle linkage, and bent it? Or it could be trying to compensate for an other problem, is the air filter dirty? Is the throttle or linkages to the governor hanging up? Try spraying all the linkages with some carb cleaner, NOT WD-40 or a lubricant (that will attract dust, and dirt, and make more of a problem when it sticks and collects on the parts) After spraying move them around gently. ...Let me know if that helps........Tom

Recheck your model number and make sure it is correct. If this mower is just a few years old it will be on there. You may have a number wrong...........Tom
