Land Rover Repair: Brakes and leaking, discovery series ii, dealer experience

Question
I own a 1999 Discovery Series II. We just recently had the 90k mile tune up where they checked everything and replaced all fluids. About 3 days later, my breaks started making this terrible noise when I gradually stop. It sounds like a grinding noise. We have new brake pads on (about 4 months old) and also asked the dealer to fully inspect the car and notify us of any safety issues. Do you have any suggestions as to what this could be?

Also, everytime it rains water comes in from the front seat belt openings. Could our drain be clogged near the sun roof or is it possibly another problem. Thank you for any help. I don't want to deal with the dealer because clearly they don't notice a problem when even asked to inspect it.

Answer
I'm sorry to hear of your bad dealer experience.  Look on www.rangerovers.net and see if they list any independent shops near you.

As to the grind - it certainly sounds like something that needs to be looked at now, not later.  There are many things that can make grind noises; you need to pull the wheels and look at your truck to see what is scraping.

As to the rain leakage - the sunroof drains are in the front of the roof, to either side. You might also have windshield leakage
