Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): homelite blower/vac no start, zama carb, flywheel alignment

Question
i have a homelite blower/vac that is about 4 years old or so... it has never been started cause it would never run. model # homelite vac attack II ...ut # 08934...zama carb number C1U-H61A
i used to work on small engines and am currently working on this unit.. it has never run since new.. could not start it. i checked for spark, checked compression, replaced spark plug, took off muffler and checked it, and found it has spark, is getting fuel, and will not start even when priming it thru cylinder before pulling rope. what can be the problem?

Answer
Hello Dave:

You can View a Breakdown of this Unit at this Site Addy; http://www.homelite.com/service_support and Select Order Parts. Now Select "Click to Launch Homelite Catalog". Now Enter the Model Numbers (UT-08934) and Click Search. Now Double Click on the Model in the Results Area. Now you can View the Breakdowns for this Unit. What is the Condition of the Flywheel Alignment Key. On Some of these Blowers/Trimmers the Key is Manufactured as a Part of the Flywheel. If this is Damaged, then the Plug will Fire at the Wrong Time During the Power/Compression Stroke. If you Pour a Small Amount of Fuel Mix into the Carburetor with the Throttle Held Full Open and Try to Start the Engine, what Happens? Thanks.
