Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): John Deere SRX95, cotter pins, power train

Question
If an SRX95 is stuck in reverse what might the issue be? The shift lever moves freely back and forth but the gearbox stays in reverse. I certainly appreciate your help.

Answer
Hello John:

From your Description it Sounds like the Shifter Linkage has a Link that has Become Disconnected. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Engine and Mower at this Site Addy, http://jdpc.deere.com/jdpc/servlet/com.deere.u90490.partscatalog.view.servlets.H... and Enter the Model Numbers (SRX95) and Click Find. Then Select your Model from the Search Results Area. Then Select the Sectional File. Then Select the Section of the Mower you Wish to View Online. Select the Power Train, Steering and Brakes File. Now Select the Shift Lever Linkage File. One of the Cotter Pins May have Broken and Allowed a Link to Drop from the Linkage and you May Not Even be Moving the Transaxle Shifter. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
