Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Toro Power Lawn Mower, model #20039, transmission pulley, drive pulley

Question
Purchased new in 2003, ran beautifully till today...the self-propel feature quit/doesn't work.  Where do I start to get it going again? Thanks very much for any help!!!

Answer
Hello Kathy:

You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Mower at this Site Addy, https://lookup3.toro.com/partdex/default.cfm and Select Start Parts Viewer. Now Enter the Model Numbers ( ) and Click Search. Now Select View Assembly Drawings. Select the Housing and Wheel Assembly File. You Need to Remove the Belt Cover (#27). Check the Belt and Replace if Broken. To Replace the Belt. Remove the Spark Plug. Tilt the Mower so the Spark Plug Hole is Pointed Up. The Remove the Blade. Now you Remove the Belt from Around the Transmission Drive Pulley and then Remove it from the Engine Drive Pulley and the Mower. Replace the Belt by Installing it onto the Engine Pulley and then the Transmission Pulley. Replace the Belt Cover. If the Traction Drive Cable is Broken, then Replace the Drive Cable. Once the Belt Cover is Off, you should be Able to See the Transmission and Drive able Hook up. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
