YES I PURCHASED A CUB CADET LT1045 IN 2006 AN THE BELT KEEPS JUMPING OFF IF THE GRASS GETS A LITTLE TALL OR WHEN THE MOWER HAS BEEN RUNNING FOR A WHILE.COULD YOU PLEASE GIVE ME SOME ADVICE ON THIS MATTER. THANK YOU

Answer
Hello Bonnie:

This Sounds like a Belt Guard is Not Properly Adjusted or the Belt is Worn and Requires Replacing. 1- Remove the Deck from Under the Mower. 2- Now Check the Belt Guards (Known as Belt Covers on Some Models. Belt Covers Will Not have Adjustments) and Ensure they are Spaced 3/8" Away from the Pulleys. On the Mower Decks that Use the Belt Covers, the Only Belt Guard is at the Engine. It is Listed as a "Belt Keeper Rod" and is #9 in the Breakdown, Listed in the Power Take-Off (PTO) System File. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of this Unit at this Site Addy; http://www.jacobisalespartslookup.com/home.asp and Select the Cub Cadet Logo. Now Select Shop Online Parts Look Up. Now Select the OEM ( Cub Cadet) and Select the Model Tab. Then Enter the Model Numbers (LT1045) and Click Search. Then Double Click on your Model in the Results Area. Then Select Sectional View. Then Select the Section of the Unit you Wish to View. 3- If the Belt Guard/Keeper Rod is Adjusted Correctly and the Belt Covers are Properly Installed on the Deck. You Want to Remove the Belt Covers and the Belt. Now Check the Belt. If the Belt is Worn, then Replace it. 4- If the Belt Looks to be in Good Condition, then Check the Deck Pulleys and Idlers. Shake them from Side to Side, Back and Forth, ect. There Should be No Sideways Movement at All. The Pulleys and Idlers should Turn with Very Little Noise and Turn Smoothly, No Fast then Slow During a Test Spin of the Pulley or Idler. An Idler Pulley is Any Pulley that Does Not Turn a Blade or Attachment. 5- Make Sure the Deck has Not Gotten Bent where the Pulleys Attach to the Deck. I Hope I have Covered All the Diagnostic Checks. I will Follow Up if I Think of Anything Else that May Cause your Problem. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
