Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Sears 77055 Yard Vacuum, tension spring, traction bar

Question
I've had this vacuum for about two years and continue to have the same problem.  When I release the pull bar (that engages the 'self-propelled' gear box) the forward motion doesn't disengage. The only way to get it to disengage is to push the lever forward on the top of the gearbox, which of course should only be done with the motor off.  Is there a simple fix for this?  I thought of using a spring that would pull the lever back to the 'off' position.  Any ideas?

Answer
Hello Gary:

Where is the Tension Spring? Usually there is a Spring that Pulls the Gear Box to Loosen the Tension when you Release the Traction Bar. Send me the Model Numbers Off the Unit, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. I Require the Sears Model Numbers; Example: XXX.XXXXXX. **DO NOT RELEASE THE GEAR BOX BY HAND. BELIEVE ME IT WILL TAKE A FEW FINGERS NO MATTER HOW CAREFULL YOU ARE !!!** If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
