Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): power mac 6 chain saw, engine crankcase, piece tank

Question
QUESTION: I went out to start my saw and it would not start. Pulled the plug to check for spark but found instead a lot of bar oil in the cylinder. I guarantee you it was bar oil and not an overly rich engine. I flushed the engine bore with 2 cycle gas, cleaned up the plug and it fired right up. If I put bar oil in the oil reservoir it will fill up again. What can be done to fix the problem. Also some times not always you can be cutting and it acts like it is starving for gas, just like when you run out of gas at the end of a tank.I am original owner saw is in great shape or was. Could it be a fuel filter or old gas line collapsing. thanks for you time,Jim

Is there some connection to the automatic oiling system that could be letting the bar oil in.
