Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): PART #?, side shaft, snow blower

HI!... I currently am rebuilding a mid 70's snow blower. It has a 8H.P side shaft B&S engine on it. It is the original engine for the snow blower. The snow blower was a CANADIAN TIRE brand called "MASTERCRAFT". I need to replace the magneto but the engine does not have any part #'s on it at all. I even took of some of the winter sheilding hoping it would be under them. But there is absolutly nothing. Is there any way I can find out the model # or at least the replacement magneto part # needed?

There has to be a Model # on this engine unless it is a clone made in japan.Which I doubt, look on the valve covers it should be there sometimes they are really hard to find or read,I have had hard times finding them as the numbers sometimes are not readable
