Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Noma Canadiana Drive Parts Lookup, murray snow throwers, friction wheel

Question
QUESTION: I have a old Noma Canadiana CN827DET, series 43664768 that I am making out of another old Noma snowblower.  I ran into a problem where one of the drive chains slipped off the main sprocket, wrapped itself around the shaft and caused irreparable damage to the small sprocket on the other end of the friction wheel shaft.  It is this shaft/sprocket that I am looking for but so far I cannot find any resource.  Can you help?  Thanks, Robert

ANSWER: Hello Robert:

Go to this Site Addy, http://www.smallenginepartswarehouse.com/parts.asp and Select Shop Online Parts Look Up. Then Select the Model Tab. Then Select the OEM (Murray) and Enter the Model Numbers (629104X35B). Then Double Click on your Model in the Results Area. Then Select the Section of the Mower you Wish to View. Most of the Noma (Murray) Snow Throwers have the Same Gear you are Asking About. Look at the Drive Components File and you can See the Gear (#275 Called a Jack Assembly PN # 761789MA) you are Asking About. You can Purchase this at your Local Small engine Service Center or Online. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Have a Happy Holiday Season and May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Happy. Thanks.

Good Luck

QUESTION: John,
Thanks for your timely reply and information.  I checked out the site but the part you refer to (Jack assy)isn't the part I needed.  It is the Hex assy pn-579897MA which in this diagram is also the incorrect part.  I must have a much earlier model.  I am attaching an image of the part that I need.  Hopefully this works and you are able to see it.

ANSWER: Hello Again Robert:

Yes; this is an Older Model Noma. Do you have the Part Number for the Jack Shaft? If Yes, then Please Send it to me. I can Use it to Locate the Proper Manual in my Fiche. Also, here are Some Sites that May be of Assistance in Locating the Part and/or a Breakdown. http://www.yetmans.mb.ca/antiques.html and  http://www.oldengine.org/. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Hi Robert:

Thanks for the Comments and Ratings. You are Welcome. I Just Talked to MTD. They have the Parts List, but No Breakdown and they No Longer Support this Unit for Parts. If the 2 Site Addys are of No Assistance in Locating Parts, then Let me know. I Occasionally havee Free Time and can Put this Unit on my Part Search List with Others that I am Trying to Locate Parts or Breaksowns for. Till Next Time. May All Your Mechanical Problems be SMALL ONES and May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks Again.

Best Wishes and Good Luck
