Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): B&S carb for model 252707 type 0621-03, correct component, hp model

Question
Can I use a different carb than the original model number on this engine? Orig carb = part #491026

I'm looking at a carb on Ebay from a 12 hp model 280707, type 0127 01, code 87 03 2311 that I'm told will fit my engine. The part number is just slightly different (491031).

The question is, will it work?

Hello Todd:

The Carburetor will Interchange and Should Operate Properly. However, I Usually Do Not Suggest Putting a Carburetor or Other Component on an Engine if it is Not the Correct Component.
