Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Sears LT 1000 Lawn Tractor Deck Adjustment, lt1000, series numbers

Question
QUESTION: My Sears LT 1000 lawn tractor is cutting unevenly. I can't seem to find the manual. Can you tell me how to level the deck?

Might as well also give me the oil change procedure too..:)

Thanks!

ANSWER: Hello Bert:

There are Several Different Deck Lift and Leveling Systems. Send me the Model Numbers Off the Mower, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. I Require the XXX.XXXXXX Numbers Off the Mower. The LT1000 is the Series Numbers. Thanks.

QUESTION: I tried adjusting the deck by turning the two bolts up or down . I seem to be making progress as the mower is cutting better.

Is the deck supposed to be perfectly level when it is properly adjusted?

Thanks again.
ANSWER: Hi Bert:

On Some Mowers the Deck May Slant Down Slightly Towards the Front of the Mower. You Do Not Level the Cut Using the Deck. Set the Mower on a Level Flat Surface and Measure from the Flat of the Blade to the Surface. This Levels the Side to Side Cutting of the Deck. There is No Adjustments for Leveling the Deck from Front to Rear; Just Side to Side. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.
