Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Coleman Powermate 5000, coleman powermate, motor model

Question
I have a Coleman Powermate 5000 Maxa ER Plus Portable Electric Generator with a 10 hp Tecumseh motor model # HM100.  The motor has three wires connected to the coil.  1 goes to the spark plug, 1 goes to the kill switch, and the other goes to something on the bottom of the motor.  The last one is shorting out the coil.  If I disconnect this wire everything seems to run fine.  What is this part and do I need to replace it or just disconnect it.  Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

Answer
Hello Scott:

From your Description, it Sounds like the Low Oil Shut Off Sensor. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of this Engine at this Site Addy, http://www.outdoordistributors.com/ and Select the T. Then Select Tecumseh. Then Select Don't have Part Numbers. Then Enter the Model Numbers. Then Select your Model and Download the File for Online Viewing. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
